There is a good selection of places to eat in North Somercotes, being served by two public houses, both serving a full menu, a pizza restaurant, pizza takeaway, Chinese takeaway, and cafe. All are within easy walking distance, along with the two general stores.
There is scope for sailing, fishing, golf, horse riding and microlight and light aircraft flights in the near vicinity.
A short drive and you will find Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, both small seaside resorts, or Cleethorpes with its family theme park. Grimsby, about 18 miles away is great for shopping with the added attraction of The Fishing Heritage Centre.
Twelve miles inland is the Georgian market town of Louth, which retains much of its old character. Don’t miss the Louth Art Trail which starts at the Navigation Trust Warehouse on the west side of town, then follows the River Lud into the town centre where the town is bisected by the Meridian Line, and finally leads you to the west side of town and the leisure area of Hubbards Hills
To the south west is Lincoln, one of Britain’s most beautiful historic cities with over 2,000 years of heritage on display. A must to visit are the magnificent cathedral, castle and museums.
