Welcome to the website of North Somercotes Women’s Institute.
We meet in the Church Hall, Keeling Street, North Somercotes on the first Thursday of every month* at 7.00 pm
Traditional values & new friendships
The WI is as relevant today as it was when it was launched in 1915 and it’s just as radical. The WI is here to enable women like you to 'make a difference' - to the life you lead, to the community of which you're a part and to the world in which you live.
The WI is a diverse and multifaceted organisation. Its concerns range from climate change to cooking, from crafts to community projects, from healthy eating to fairtrade fortnights, from traditional values to new friendships
North Somercotes WI was founded in 1922, disbanded during WWII and reformed in 1949.
2009 is our 60th Birthday and we’ll be celebrating!
New members are always welcomed! Just come along and meet us or contact our president Pauline Elvy on 01507 359122 or Terry Ashby on 01507 358679 for more information.
* Except August when we have an afternoon picnic and January when we meet in the afternoon.
